8:50
|
Priory
children get to school bright and breezy (sometimes).
Each day there are different teachers on duty outside in
the playground. At 8:50, this teacher rings the bell once
to make everyone stand still and silently, and after a
pause the bell is rung again, and the children go into
the school.

|
| |
8:55 |
The
register is taken. Most children can read at this time or
change reading books.

The
first lesson of the day unfolds. This may be a literacy
lesson or maths.
|
|
| |
10:20 |
On
a Monday, the next lesson is a Whole school assembly in
which Mrs Cox talks to us about a particular subject and
gives huge certificates out. On other days, this time may
be taken up by R.E., science, P.E., Hymn practice or other
lessons.

|
| |
10:50 |
Playtime
- the time that children go out and play for 20 minutes.
|
|
| |
11:10 |
Normally
this time is used for Maths Groups in which the whole
year splits into 5 so that the best and worst are in
their own classed section.
|
|
| |
12:15 |
Lunchtime.
Priory children eat their dinner. First a bell goes, and
they show up a board, with 3, 4 ,5, 6 and C on it. The
board shows which year is currently going into the dining
room for their dinner. "C" indicates the
children who are doing lunchtime clubs, so need their
lunch early. The numbers on the board are swapped around
on a weekly basis. During this time, when we are not
eating our dinner, we can play in the playground, or in
the classroom if it is wet.
|
|
| |
13:20 |
Afternoon
classes start. Religious education or P.E. is done by
year 3's and 4's, and literacy for year 5's and 6's.
|

Play
time for year 3's - other lessons for the rest of the
school.
|
|
| |
14:50 |
Year
3's have a gold book assembly on a Tuesday, or story time
for the other days of the week. The rest of the school
are finishing their current lessons.
|
|
| |
15:30 |
The
end of the school day for priory school children. The
classes troop out into the playground to find mum's and
dad's, but year 5 and year 6 class pupils can go out on
their own.

After
school clubs are run - see our clubs page for
details.
|
|
| |
20:30 |
Long
after the last child has left the Priory, the weiry
teachers go home to bed, ready to be up at the crack of
dawn for the next day for school.
